Reliability Engineering Data Webinar

Webinar Provides Solution to Reliability Data Gap

Quanterion Solutions, a longtime reliability engineering solutions provider, recently provided a webinar titled “SOLVED: Finding Reliability Data for System Designs.” Learn more below or scroll down to access the live recording and slides.

Failure rate reliability data is used to build reliability into designs, complete predictive analyses on products and systems, help meet requirements for a certain product or system, and more. However, accessing failure rate data can be challenging, especially if a company does not have in-house historical data on a particular component.

In this webinar, two reliability engineers discussed options for accessing the world’s largest database of high-quality field failure rate and mode data for electronic and nonelectronic components.

Key Takeaways

  • Dive into the role of reliability data in analyses such as Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), safety analyses, and others.
  • Explore use cases for engineering and manufacturing companies to improve cost savings, save labor, reduce corrective maintenance, and more.
  • Get a firsthand view of an interactive web app that provides access to comprehensive reliability datasets, NPRD (Nonelectronic Parts Reliability Data), EPRD (Electronic Parts Reliability Data), and FMD (Failure Mode/Mechanism Distributions).
  • And more!

Speakers

Mr. Wisniewski is a Senior Reliability Engineer at Quanterion Solutions and has more than 38 years of experience in applying reliability, maintainability and safety engineering design, analysis, testing and screening methods and failure analysis and field support techniques on a variety of commercial products and military equipment/systems. Programs include radar, microwave/RF sensor systems, flight controls, mission computers, fixed and rotary winged full authority digital engine controls, regenerative liquid propellant guns, lightweight howitzers, and commercial and military hybrid electric vehicle drive train components. At Quanterion, he leads efforts to support government and industry customers in designing reliability/quality into products and systems, solve product reliability problems and identify corrective actions using techniques such as electrical stress analyses, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, standard statistical analysis, and the collection, analysis and modeling of failure data.
Chris Maxwell, a Senior Engineer at Quanterion Solutions, specializes in Reliability Engineering from the Design Engineering standpoint. Academically Mr. Maxwell has a BSEE from Rensselaer in Communications and Control Systems and subsequently an MSEE from SUNY Binghamton. Mr. Maxwell has also served as an Adjunct Professor for Mohawk Valley Community College, teaching: Circuits, Physics and Introduction to Engineering Science. Mr. Maxwell has worked as a project engineer, designer and consultant within the DoD, Aerospace, Transportation and Instrumentation industries for 30 years prior to joining Quanterion Solutions. As a designer, Mr. Maxwell has experience with the design of analog electronics, power supplies, battery charge and conditioning circuits/firmware, communication systems, embedded processors, human to machine interfaces, digital signal processing algorithms, mechanical elements for electromagnetic shielding, signal integrity mitigation, mechanical elements for product safety and mechanical component coordination for galvanic compatibility. In addition to design work, as a member of numerous new product introductions, Mr. Maxwell has also served as a project technical lead for Electromagnetics Compliance, Agency Safety Compliance, risk analysis and FMEA analysis. Since coming to Quanterion Solutions in 2021, along with performing FMEA and Reliability Prediction analyses; Mr. Maxwell has worked to complement Quanterion Solutions’ statistical expertise and experience in reliability by taking empirical and physics-based approaches to reliability modeling as well as expanding Quanterion Solution’s capabilities in Worst Case Analysis.
